We hate on ourselves for being too dark, or too nappy and get jealous if someone's to light or has "good" hair. I'm sure our neurosis, built over 400 years, holds us back more than any other factor. Which isn't to say discrimination isn't pervasive in this society, but it could be overcome if we got those shackles off our minds. Yes, It’s sad what black folk do to each other. I saw his self-mutilation as an unconscious attempt to win the affection and acceptance of his dad. I Could be wrong. Only Michael, himself, knew for sure what his true motivation was. We have lost a music Legend. We won't be getting another Michael Jackson for a while--child prodigy, and performer extraordinaire. Michael, as you know, had issues with his dad, who he said beat him, and made fun of his big, negroid nose.
