If you don’t know Coltrane then you’re in for a treat as you’re introduced to one of the giants of modern jazz.

I just wanted to turn folks on to this website. Rebellion tells the story of John Horse and the successful slave uprising of the1830s. It can be found at www.johnhorse.com. From the website:
“From 1835-1838 in Florida, the Black Seminoles, the African allies of Seminole Indians, led the largest slave rebellion in U.S. history.[1] The uprising peaked in 1836 when hundreds of slaves fled their plantations to join the rebel forces in the Second Seminole War (1835-1842). At the heights of the revolt, at least 385 slaves fought alongside the black and Indian Seminole allies, helping them destroy more than twenty-one sugar plantations in central Florida, at the time one of the most highly developed agricultural regions in North America.[2]” (more…)
